Welcome to Digital Book of India, operated by DIGITAL BOOK OF INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED ("DBI", "we", "us" or "our").
These Terms of Service explain the basic rules for using the Digital Book of India website and services. By accessing or using our website, creating an account, submitting a business listing, posting a review, or using any other feature of the platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website.
1. About Digital Book of India
Digital Book of India is a digital platform designed to help users discover businesses and help businesses create and manage their presence online.
Businesses may provide information such as their business name, category, address, contact details, timings, photographs, location and verification information for creating and managing their listings.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account, register a business, submit a review or use features that require you to provide personal information.
By using DBI, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally entitled to provide it.
3. Your Account
If you create an account with DBI, you are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity carried out through your account.
Please provide accurate and up-to-date information. If your information changes, you should update it where the platform allows you to do so.
If we reasonably believe that an account is being misused, contains false information, or is being used for an unlawful or harmful purpose, we may restrict or suspend the account.
4. Business Listings
Businesses are responsible for the information they provide for their listings.
You must not knowingly provide false, misleading, fraudulent or outdated information.
DBI may review, verify, update, restrict or remove a listing where we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information is inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, unlawful or otherwise violates these Terms.
A business listing does not mean that DBI guarantees or endorses every statement, claim, product, service, qualification, price or representation made by that business.
5. Business Verification
To maintain the reliability of the platform, DBI may require businesses to complete identity and business verification.
As part of registration and verification, businesses may be required to provide information including GST details, Aadhaar/DigiLocker verification information and identity details of the business owner or authorised person.
Where face or biometric verification is used, the information may be processed and retained for identity verification and platform security in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Reviews and User Content
Users may be permitted to submit reviews, ratings, photographs or other content.
You are responsible for the content you submit.
You must not post content that is:
- false or deliberately misleading;
- defamatory or abusive;
- threatening or unlawful;
- discriminatory or hateful;
- obscene or inappropriate;
- intended to impersonate another person;
- intended to damage a business through fake reviews or manipulation; or
- infringing another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
DBI may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
7. Payments
Certain services, plans or features may require payment.
Where a payment is made through the website, the transaction may be processed through a third-party payment service provider. Payment information may therefore be handled by that provider in accordance with its own terms and privacy practices.
The price and applicable terms for a paid service will be displayed before the transaction is completed.
8. Prohibited Use
You must not use DBI to:
- commit or promote any unlawful activity;
- create fake accounts or fake business listings;
- submit fraudulent reviews or ratings;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or another user's account;
- interfere with the security or operation of the platform;
- upload viruses, malicious code or harmful material;
- collect information about other users without proper authority; or
- use the platform in a way that may harm DBI, its users or third parties.
9. Website Content
We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the platform useful and accurate. However, much of the business information available on DBI is provided by businesses or users.
DBI therefore does not guarantee that every listing, review, photograph, description, business detail or other user-provided information is always complete, accurate or current.
Users should independently verify important information before relying upon it.
10. Intellectual Property
The DBI name, logo, website design, software, graphics, text and other original material created by DBI are owned by or licensed to DBI and are protected by applicable law.
You may use the website for its intended purpose, but you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit DBI's proprietary content without prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
DBI may use or connect with third-party services to provide features such as payments, maps, verification, analytics and other functionality.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. DBI is not responsible for the independent policies or practices of third-party service providers.
12. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate access to an account or listing if we reasonably believe that the user has violated these Terms, provided false information, engaged in fraudulent activity, or used the platform unlawfully.
Where appropriate, we may also take action to protect other users and the integrity of the platform.
13. Availability of the Website
We try to keep DBI available and functioning properly. However, the website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security issues, updates or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
14. Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DBI will not be responsible for losses arising solely from a user's reliance on information supplied by another user or business through the platform.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform develops or applicable laws change.
The updated version will be published on this page with the revised "Last Updated" date.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in India.
Subject to applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms or the use of DBI shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
